If you prefer to take a drink every now and then, leave your cash at home if you plan to do your drinking in a brick and mortar casino. I am not joking. Empty your pocketbook, your wallet, and leave all money, bank cards and chequebooks at home. Take just the cash you intend to spend on drinks, tipping and whatever loose coins you intend to lose and leave the remainder behind.
Pessimistic? Not at all. Practical really. You may well experience a win after a drunken night out with your buddies and be lucky enough to hit a 25 minute roll at a smokin’ craps table. Hold on to that account because it is as short-lived as it gets if you constantly drink and gamble. The 2 just don’t mix.
Keeping your cash at home is a bit drastic, however defensive measures for drastic actions is relative and necessary. If you bet to win, then do not drink and play. If you can manage to toss away your money without a worry, then consume all the free alcohol your stomach can handle, but don’t take credit cards and chequebooks to toss into the mix of going after losses once your inebriated brain squanders everything!
